Nothing like a little California wine tasting in New York to make you feel back at home. I lived in San Francisco for ten years and wish I’d gone to Napa more often. Now if I were single, this would’ve been a great meet market!

Economic times are uncertain, especially if you work on New York’s Wall Street – the financial epicenter of the world. Bush signed the $700 billion bail out bill while I think some folks deserve to go to jail for greed and predatory lending.

October is a celebration of six months in a relationship, a year at a great job and my first apartment solo in New York. How did I get here? By writing down a clear list of goals that I kept very close to my heart. Most of all, thank you to my family and friends for all your support. Anything is possible.

Chinatown still has the best dim sum and tea in town. On the other side of town at Wakya, I was happy to walk out with their fine chili paste tightly saran-wrapped in my purse – thanks to the resourceful busser.

Some might argue that it’s inhumane to keep animals in captivity. I think that without access to observe these rare creatures, we’d be more ignorant of our responsibility and relationship with the natural kingdom. The cost of admission is a small price to support the Bronx Zoo. Don’t they look peaceful spooning?
